Veteran actress Tanuja enjoys a huge fan base. Having made a mark in the industry with her versatile performances, she left the fans shocked when reports of her being hospitalised started surfacing the internet. According to various media, reports she was rushed to the hospital due to an age-related illness on Sunday evening. She is currently admitted to the ICU at a hospital in Juhu, Mumbai.
Quoting a PTI report, News18 stated that the 80-year-old actress is currently under observation and that she is doing well. The source said, “She is under observation and is doing well. There’s nothing to worry about.” The actress’ family or team is yet to release an official statement about her health. For those who don’t know, the A Death in the Gunj actress is the daughter of filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth. She went on to marry filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee. Mother to Bollywood actresses Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji, she is actor Ajay Devgn’s mother-in-law. Nysa Devgn and Yug Devgn are her grandkids. ALSO READ: WOW! Having worked extensively in the Hindi and Bengali entertainment industry, she garnered a lot of fans. She started her career as a child actress with Hamari Beti in 1950. She made her debut as the leading lady with Hamari Yaad Aayegi in 1961. She went on to star in hit movies like Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi, Jewel Thief, Paisa Ya Pyaar, Haathi Mere Saathi and Mere Jeevan Sathi. Her pairings with Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar were loved by the audiences.
